The Elk River Community Theatre was formed
over three
decades ago in the summer of 1975 by a small group
of locals dedicated to providing a local organization for the
performing arts.
Our first
production was
Rogers &
Hammerstein's
Oklahoma.
Back then, in
the hot sticky
summer of 1976,
we preformed in
the Parker
Elementary
School
gym/cafeteria
(and there was
no air
conditioning!).
We now perform
in Elk River
High School's
state-of-the-art
Zabee Auditorium
(which has air
conditioning!).
The Zabee is an
amazing thrill
for performers,
techies, and
audiences alike.
Throughout the
last 33 years we
have been
growing to
include other
surrounding
communities in
Hennepin,
Wright, Anoka,
Sherburne,
Milaca, and
Sterns counties.
We are always
looking for
photos and other
memorabilia from
our past shows.
If you have any
old programs,
ticket stubs,
photos, etc.
please contact
us so that we
can feature our
rich history at
one of our
productions and
on our website.
